The Ragdoll Princess

A short story about a Ragdoll Princess, maybe your Ragdoll Princess

Once upon a time, far far away in the Kingdom of Ragdolls, there was a beautiful kitten born to The Magnificent Blue Striped King Kailua and Beautiful Tortie Blue and Cream Queen Aurora. This little Ragdoll Princess had the most beautiful long, fluffy fur that was as soft as silk. She had the elegance and grace of the most beautiful of sunsets. The Ragdoll Princess lived in the highest room of the tallest tower of the cat castle.
Now, the Kingdom of Ragdolls was in the Land of Cats, but it was right on the border of the Land of Giants. From the window of the Ragdoll Princess’ room, she could see over the walls of the Kingdom of Ragdolls and into the Land of Giants. The Princess was assigned a lady-in-waiting at this time to watch over her, and her name was Cinderella. Cinderella was a beautiful blue cat. She had been sent to the Land of Giants by her parents when she was just a kitten, and she was raised by giants. She was very happy with the giants, and they took care of her for as long as they could, but after many years, they could no longer care for her and sent her back to her own land to be with her own kind. Cinderella told the little Ragdoll Princess tales of her time with the giants: the warmth of their laps, the cuddles and love she received, and the way they knew exactly where to scratch to make her purr like crazy. And because of this, the little Ragdoll Princess spent her days looking out her window wishing to be with the giants, wishing to know the love and the warmth of a family of giants, just like her friend had known.
Just before she had turned three months of age, she was tricked by a trickster, a masked ticked tabby. He had heard her longings outside her window, how she long to be with the giants, and he told her he could make her deepest dream come true. But instead, he tricked her with a poisoned treat that put her into deep, deep slumber. During this slumber, the Ragdoll Princess dreamed of her life with her new family of giants. The King and Queen tried to wake her, but it was of no avail. The Ragdoll Princess could simply not be woken. They called for the Ragdoll Princess’ Godmother, the strikingly beautiful seal mitted cat maiden name Belle. To the relief of the King and Queen, Belle told them that the Ragdoll Princess’ curse could be broken by the object of her deepest desire, the desire from the tricksters' treat that put her into the deep slumber. The Ragdoll Princess could only be awoken by the love of a new family of giants. So, the King and Queen sent word to all who would hear in the land of giants––hoping for a loving family of giants to come rescue her from her sleep. And, in her cat castle she sleeps––awaiting the day that her dreams would be fulfilled, and she will be rescued by a family of giants who love her, and she will live happily ever after with them.
Will you be that family? Will you rescue the Ragdoll Princess?
